Last night my Best Friend, the Little Sister, one of my home girls and I went to see Israel Houghton and his band the New Breed.  He put on a free gospel concert at Church on the Rock.  It was such an awesome concert!  I was blown away by his talent; that man has the voice of an angel.  He’s gifted singer, a talented musician and a great performer.  It was all good until I ran into Lyle.  You know, my boot camp teacher.  I smiled and waved and he sternly replied, “Where have you been????”  His girlfriend or whoever she was kinda chuckled at the fact that even when he wasn’t at work, he was still working.  I couldn’t lie or just say I’ve been too lazy to let him kick my butt the past couple weeks.  I just told him.  “I know I know, I’m coming back.”  …

Then this morning I went to breakfast at my mom’s house and my cousin who works in Forest Park said hey I haven’t seen you walking in the park for a while….  Geez it’s like everybody noticed I’ve slacked off on the evening workouts.  Good thing I was already dressed for today’s workout.  I went back home after the family breakfast to get Nyah and we went to the park.  I listened to my New Week 1 podcast for the Bridge to 10k.  I enjoyed it so much.  I don’t wanna toot my own horn, but TOOT TOOT. It was awesome!  Well to me anyway, because it’s all the music I like that makes me want to move.   Of course I haven’t been consistently training enough to run for the whole 30 minute session, but I had fun trying.  I ran/walked just over 2 and half miles in about 45 minutes.  When I got home my body was craving a shower.  I know you runners are excited about the new podcast, and I’ll post it up soon on a new page so you can download it.   Right now, I’m about to get ready for my Mom’s Birthday party. My Hollywood Aunt and tons of cousins from everywhere came to town for the Big birthday bash.   She’s having  a 1920’s flapper themed party.  I love my family, they know how to party and have fun.  I’ll post some pictures later.

  1. I love the title for your new podcast…Bridge to 10K – cool. Today I ran 28 minutes WITHOUT stopping. It’s been a very long, long, long time since I’ve done that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your hard work. It is certainly helping me with mine. It’s hard for me to believe there was a time when 5-7 miles A DAY was normal. Ugh. No more of that but I am really enjoying pushing myself again.

Have fun at your mom’s party…Send her a big Happy Birthday from Montana!

  2. Thanks Jenn. I can’t take the credit for the title “Bridge to 10K” Somebody left a comment and called it that, and liked it so I “ran” with it….. OMG, I had no idea you used to run 5-7 miles a day. Wow, that’s always been one of my dreams to just casually say, Oh I just came back from a 6 mile run…But we’ll both get there….so here’s something funny. I’m sitting at my Mom’s house tonight, and I said “Mama, Jenn from Montana said Happy Birthday!” and she says “Who is Hanna Montana???” lol Hilarious.
