Lately, I look and feel like a popped can of biscuits.  Just spilling out through my clothes.  So, I decided something had to be done.  I want to get back to basics.  Of course you know I struggle with food regardless of what plan I’m on, but I’ve had great success with running and training for endurance events.  After all, my site is about running and inspiring others to do so.  5K’s are kind of like “been there done that”… it’s really not exciting enough to motivate me anymore.  So….guess what?? I signed up for the GO St. Louis Half Marathon in April 2012.  13.1 Miles!

And, because I know myself well enough to know that I would train for a month and get lazy, I planned ahead and signed up for Team in Training againTeam in Training is part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and they raise money to assist blood cancer patients, and raise funds to find cures for all forms of cancer.  When I sign my name on the dotted line, I get to train with the team for the next 5 months and raise at least $1,000 for the cause.  The fundraising contract I signed and the quest to cure cancer is certainly enough to light my fire!  I’m excited.  I had such a great experience last time.  I’m not sure what goals I want to set, because I’ve gained weight, and I need to see what my body will physically allow me to do first.  But, I need you to help me get a head start.  Please help me and help TNT by donating to the cause!  Here We go Again!!

My Official Plea: Running Into Shape Fundraising Page

I am raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as a participant in their Team In Training program and I’m asking you to help by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. http://pages.teamintraining.org/gat/spirit12/finishthisrace

Please use the link in this email to donate online quickly and securely plus learn more about my progress.  You will receive a confirmation of your donation by email and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation.  You can also send a donation through mail to my PO Box,

Running Into Shape, PO Box 77126, St. Louis, MO 63177

Each donation helps accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Nearly 958,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers.  I am hoping that my participation in Team In Training will help bring them hope and support.

On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support.  I greatly appreciate your generosity.

 Thank you!

  1. Carli- Did you see on Friday Rock N Roll is offering $20 off registration.
I’m considering signing up for the Rock N Roll 1/2 right here in StL.
Quite a bit bigger than GO!
And I LOVE the GO! events but it was amazing to be part of the HUGE Rock N Roll last month! 🙂

  2. Rock n Roll was all over downtown! I want that BLING! That medal looks so cool. Is it in October 2012? I wasn’t sure if they were coming back again.

  3. Hey Carli:

We are always a work in progress…You can do this, I know you can. I will start my donations after the holidays (I hope that’s ok). And thank you for supporting such a wonderful cause. This is hitting close to home for me these days as a really good friend of mine has had a recurrence of her lymphoma. She is finishing her last round of chemo and will have a stem cell transplant in Dec.

  4. Hey Tex, you have plenty of time. My final money isn’t due until a couple of weeks before the race. Thanks for the support! Sorry about your friend, I didn’t know they were doing stem cell transplants already. I hope everything goes well. Now, I know I’m running for your friend too!

  5. Hey Carli:

Sign up for the Rock-n-Roll you will love it. I missed ours in Savannah last weekend, but my training partners loved it and we all are signing up for the one in Nov 2012. Thanks for all your post..

  6. Carli Car, Bad girl for dissin’ yourself like that! Good girl for knowing so well what motivates and inspires you. 🙂 I looked into doing the team in training thing too, but we don’t have that in my area. Good luck (not that you’ll need it) in your upcoming training. I know you will be (and already are) FABULOUS!
    Hugs from Montana!

  7. Hey Jenn Jen! I guess that was kinda extreme huh? Too bad you don’t have TNT in your area, it’s so awesome. We have our kick-off tonight, we get the training Schedule. 2nd Half Marathon here I come!

  8. Awesome!!!! I want to sign up for the country music half marathon here in Nashville that’s in April as well. But I’m just now restarting the podcasts for a 5k so I thought that was a little extreme. Is it ???? I don’t wanna set my aim too high ya know
