This morning, I text my Gym Cousin to remind him that we needed to meet at the gym tonight to begin training for Week 2. He asked me what I was eating to lose weight and then accused me of trying to leave him fat. LOL! I tell him all the time that I don’t think he’s overweight, but whatever, his drive to hit the gym everyday gives me a great workout buddy. I explained that for the most part I’m doing the Weight Watchers “simply filling” plan. Which is eating a diet primarily of whole-grains, lean meats, low-fat dairy, fruits and vegetables and little sugar.

When I got to the gym, the parking lot was packed full, I had to circle around for a few minutes just to find a spot. That is the biggest downfall of the $10 per month gym, everyone is always there. Once I got inside, it seemed like 100 people were in there working out on a cold Thursday night. I found my cousin over in the free weights section. We had the most random crazy conversation about dental hygiene while waiting for treadmills next to each other. We discussed how often should you brush your teeth and what’s an appropriate length of time to brush. We are so silly together, we also laughed about the guy that does three wardrobe changes during his gym routine… Who does that??

Once, the crowd cleared out a little bit, he pulled up Week 2 on his iPhone and I went to Week 2 on my iPod. He liked the music in Week 2 better than the music from last week. To my surprise I was able to run all six of the 90 second intervals, although I did have to cut one short. I had a good sweaty run, sweat even rolled down my face and stung my eye. That kinda sweat makes you feel like you’re really doing something big. My cousin said this week was much easier for him since his body was adjusting to running. We finished, and he talked me into getting on the elliptical. I did it, but only for 15 minutes, because I had to get home and watch SCANDAL. That is my show! Do y’all watch it? Oh, Fitz and Olivia whew! I’ve got my parents, my Big Little Sister and a co-worker hooked on it. When got home I sat down on the couch and I got a whiff that I smelled a little tart, LOL and that was a sure-fire sign that I had a great workout at the gym. But, I live alone with Nyah, so who cares if I smell like gym funk, Scandal first, then shower time!

  1. That is a really great workout. I went back to week 1 after I had talked with you about what speed you run on the treadmill so I decided I would start over and do 5mph also. Whew that was good one. I am only 5′ 3 and I felt like my legs were running so fast lol.
