Yesterday, I casually checked my blog stats expecting to see the normal couple hundred or so visitors.  When I saw 1,034 hits in one day, I screamed.  I literally screamed.  Nyah came running in to see what was wrong.  I told her “Baby, I’m going reach my goal of 2000 hits in a day before you know it!”  She gave me a crazy look, and walked away.  I guess blog stats are a little complicated for even my dog.  I’ll just pretend like it doesn’t freak me out to know that all these people are reading my blog and running to the sound of my voice.  Anyway, I went to boot camp today.  My cousin went with me again; class was super hard tonight.  Lyle was busy, so we had a substitute teacher.  He is the same guy that taught the class at 6AM that me and my little sister used to go to.  I’m glad that I’m getting back in my workout groove….  But its something about cookies.  I ate a whole row of the peanut-butter sandwich girl scout cookies.  The whole row!  This is precisely why I don’t keep this kind of food in my house.  Well the good part is they’re almost gone.  The lady at the weight watcher meeting said she threw her cookies in the trash.  Hump…I guess I’m not there yet!

  1. I ate a whole box of Samoas…I wonder how long and fast I need to run to burn those cookies off? was worth it…those cookies are so good. Love the blog…and the podcasts.

    • LOL, not the purple box! I didn’t even order any of those, I would’ve eaten the whole box too. Well keep running and I’ll do the same! Maybe we’ll at least balance out.

  2. I just discovered this site, couch to 5k was mentioned at my weight watchers meeting this morning. So I went on my google search and found a few, but have to say yours caught my attention. I completely understand the whole girl scout cookie thing. My biggest downfall, THIN MINTS!!!! and I live with an 8 year old girl scout so you know I ordered. LOL I have been going to weight watchers for about 6 months now, down 12 lbs but it has been an up and down 12 lbs. I really need to take it more seriously. So I thought what better way then to make myself a goal there is a 5k coming up on Mother’s day so I thought I would make the attempt. Thank you!

    • Michelle, who knew girl scout cookies were irresistable to so many people? Lol. But don’t feel bad about losing 12 lbs. Just think, if you weren’t going you might have gained weight. I always try to focus on the positive 🙂

  3. Thanks Carli, I do try and stay positive, but it can be frustrating as you probably know.. You are right it most definatly could have been a gain. My daughter joined girl scouts last year and I could not believe the amount of cookies she sold. What made me laugh the most today when I went and picked up the order, out of all the many cases of thin mints, peanut butter patties etc etc, there was one order for one lonely box of the “reduced fat” Daisy go rounds.. so out of all the cases one lonely box.. just goes to show you people don’t think “LOW FAT” when it comes to these cookies! Thanks so much for being my new inspiration. I look forward to starting my 5k training.

  4. I’m not surprised you are getting so many website hits, the word is spreading, I recommend your website to everyone and anyone lol. Have you thought about running a 10K? That’s my next challenge. Keep up the good work 🙂

    • Sofi, I certianly want to run a 10K. I had huge (probably to big) dreams of running a half marathon in April. It doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to run it, but I’m going to do everything I can to walk it and finish.

  5. Carli, I have to say THANK YOU! I have read several of your blogs, I have downloaded your podcasts and today I finished week 1 of my training. I feel great. I even improved. According to my pedometer I increased from my start day of 1.8 miles to today of 2.4 miles. You are an inspiration. Keep it up!

  6. Michelle, that’s fantastic, thats a great distance for week 1. Glad you like the podcast. Wait until you see my post today. I gave up cookies!!!!

  7. Carli, I walked the Jimmy Fund walk back in Sept. I did the 1/2 marathon distance, 13.1 miles. was not as bad as I thought it would be. This running thing is a whole different ballgame. But I keep thinking if I could walk that walk back in Sept because of the cause behind it then I can most certainly work through the pain, and get through a 5k. Not to mention I am doing 12 lbs lighter. I did think that today’s distance was great. I was grinning from ear to ear when I got home.
OMG you gave up cookies??? I did eat cookies today before my work out. Having the damn girl scout cookies in the house is rough. Unfortunately I live with my darling girl scout. LOL I have done rather well. I have had them since Saturday, my down fall cookies are the thin mints. One sleeve as of today is gone. But I started eating them on Sunday. So I think 18 cookies per one sleeve and I finished them this afternoon. is was 10 cookies.. I was so upset with myself. But then I went for my run/walk. Felt a lot better after that. I am proud of you. Having the will power to just give them up.. just throwing them away. Not to mention going to IN and OUT burger and eating the vegan selections… girl I bow to you. I don’t think I would have had the strength. I live in Maine, we do not have one here, but if I went and had the option to eat at one.. lord who knows what would happen. LOL Keep it up! I am proud of you.

    • Wow Michelle, you walked a half marathon thats amazing. Thats just what I hope to do next month. And don’t get too excited, I ate the double cheeseburger, I only sampled the spicy kale LOL! As for cookies, I was sick of stressing over them, now they’re gone!
